Harry Blackburn has lived and worked in Mammoth since age 18, teaching the sports of skiing and fly fishing. He first came to the Eastern Sierra as a child on a family ski vacation and was "hooked," just as he was after his first catch at age five. Fishing and skiing remain his passions today as a ski coach and professional fishing guide. In his fishing career, Harry has worked as lead guide for the Arcularius Ranch on the famed Upper Owens and he currently guides for Hot Creek Ranch. Whether a seasoned caster or first time fly fisher, Harry will refine your skills, build your confidence and fulfill your fly fishing dreams.
Tom Petersen grew up on Golden Pond chasing large mouth bass in summer and ski racing and ice fishing in winter. When he was ten, Tom's grandfather bet him he would not be as successful at Cold Brook if he had to use his old Montague Fly Rod, and he has been hooked on fly-fishing ever since. Seven years of coaching and stomping the rivers of Vermont did not prepare Tom for the grandeurs of the Mammoth area. He has spent the last nine years finding new and exciting places to fish here in the Eastern Sierra. A dedicated professional instructor, Tom teaches young and old alike the lifelong passion of the outdoors. He is looking forward to introducing you and your family to the fun of high country angling.
