In order to preserve this magical place, all visitors pay a small fee to ride a mandatory shuttle to Reds Meadow.
Shuttle service is June 14 through September 1, 2008.
All backpackers, daytime visitors and bicyclists should ride the shuttle. Dogs on a leash are welcome. Regular Reds Meadow Shuttle service departs the Mammoth Mountain Adventure Center daily starting at 7:15am , approx. every 20 to 30 minutes. The last bus leaves Reds Meadow at 7pm. There are 10 stops throughout the Reds Meadow area (see list of attractions above); with one ticket, get on and off as much as you like throughout the day. One-way travel time to Reds Meadow Resort averages 45 minutes. Purchase tickets at the Adventure Center. Kids 2 and under ride free.
