Parking MAPS
FREE TRANSIT
Whether you shuttled in from the airport, carpooled with friends, or want to avoid the hassles of a parking lot, you can use utilize these other means of free transit to get around the mountain.
The Village Gondola | Free | Winter Only
Jump on the Village Gondola for a free aerial ride up to Canyon Lodge. Be sure to plan ahead and check Lift & Trail Status for real-time updates on gondola operating hours.
ESTA Mountain & Town Shuttle | Free
The Eastern Sierra Transit Authority (ESTA) offers free transportation to the ski area and around town with a dedicated bus line offering service to each base lodge and all around the town of Mammoth Lakes.
Parking options
All lots typically open at 6:00 AM, but may be limited or delayed by conditions. Please note that during heavy storm cycles, snow removal using heavy equipment takes place across our roads and parking lots. Please be advised that parking availability may change, do not park in a lot where snow removal is taking place.
Preferred Parking | Paid
By request, Preferred Parking is now available at all lodges on a first come, first served basis. Preferred Parking gives you easy access to your vehicle throughout the day, making it great for families or those who don't like to set an early alarm. Look for the white and black “Preferred Parking” signs, and for the parking attendant that will take your payment. Your parking space will not be reserved for you if you leave.
General Parking | Free
Each base lodge – Main, Canyon, and Eagle Lodges – offers parking areas free of charge. There are also free parking lots available at Chair 4 and Chair 2 (The Mill). Please refer to the parking maps at the top of the page.
Overnight Parking | Seasonal
Winter: Overnight parking is prohibited in all parking areas during the winter season. Violators will be towed or ticketed for obstructing snow removal.
Summer: Overnight parking is prohibited in Mammoth lots, but is allowed downhill from shuttle stop B and further along HWY 203 on the ski area side, at owner's risk during the summer months. No overnight camping is allowed.
Black Pass Parking Area | Permit Required
Mammoth Black pass holders are offered designated priority parking as part of their exclusive pass holder benefits. A valid Black Pass parking permit must be visible. Violators will be booted and charged a service fee.
The Village Parking | FREE & PAID OPTIONS
The Village offers a number of free 2-hour parking spaces, as well as paid parking in the general lot. The Village is also the hub for the free town shuttles, with convenient bus stops for the Red, Blue, Yellow, Purple, Orange, and Green Line routes. Leave your car and shuttle to The Village, where you can easily access shopping, dining, and the slopes via the bus or gondola.

Guest Drop-Off Zone | Free 10-Minute Parking
Mammoth guests are welcome to use the guest drop-off zone for easy loading/unloading of belongings and equipment. Follow the orange parking lot signs then park parallel in the drop-off zone while loading/unloading. If you must leave your car unattended, please turn on your hazard lights while away from the vehicle.
Equipment Wagons
A supply of wagons is available in the loading zones for use to help transport your gear from the car to the locker rooms and back. Please return wagons to the drop-off zone after use for other guests to enjoy.
Parking Shuttle
Main Lodge Only | Free Daily from 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
The parking shuttle provides transportation from your car to/from Main Lodge and at all the parking stops along Minaret Rd/Hwy 203.
Pick-Up Areas
The shuttle stops in front of each parking area, designated with a blue flag and lettered sign (A–G), as well as at the Chair 4, Chair 2 & 10 (The Mill) parking lots. The shuttle will only stop if the driver sees people waiting – so make sure you’re visible.
Departure
Every 10 minutes, departing from outside the Main Lodge ticket office. Look for the black “Parking Shuttle” sign. Be sure to tell the driver what letter parking area you are going to.
After Hours
If you need a lift to your car after the parking shuttle stops running, you can jump on the 5:10 PM and 5:30 PM ESTA Red Line shuttle when in operation (mid-November through mid-April). If the Red Line is not in operation, you can ride the Village shuttle that runs from Main Lodge.
