Insider's Guide to On-Hill Dining
If you've ever spent a full day on the slopes, you know how important it is to have quick, convenient and delicious meal options to keep you shredding from first chair to last. Good news: Mammoth has over 15 places to eat and/or drink on the mountain. Not-so-good news: that many options can be overwhelming to navigate. This guide will help simplify your meal plans while you're on the hill.
Wakey, Wakey, Eggs & Bakey
Broadway Marketplace at Main Lodge: Known for its hearty breakfasts, Broadway Marketplace is a local favorite for fueling up before hitting the slopes. Speaking of local favorites - meet The Mountain Muffin. This loaded breakfast sandwich comes generously layered with fresh eggs, melty cheese and your choice of meat, all on a fresh house-baked bun. From breakfast burritos to veggie scrambles, the crew at Broadway can whip up just about anything you’re craving. Be sure to say "hi" to Daniel and Tito, they'll take good care of you.
The Mill: If your breakfast sweet spot includes mimosas and candied bacon, you'll feel right at home at The Mill. Right off Chair 2 parking lot and within stones-throw of the lift line, this joint epitomizes slope-side convenience. The lively team at The Mill has perfected classic breakfast menu fare. We're talking fluffy stacks of pancakes, hearty omelets and breakfast burritos galore. Grab a signature Bloody Mary to compliment your breakfast and mark it off your passport for the mountain-wide Bloody Mary tour.
Let's Do Lunch
The Outpost: Looking for a remote lunch spot, preferably with a view? Head to The Outpost located on the backside at the base of Chair 14. Accessible only by snowboards/skis, this spot offers amazing panini-style grilled cheeses, daily soup specials and cold beers on tap. You could make this a quick lunch stop but, with stunning 360-degree views of the Hemlocks and ample picnic-style seating on a raised deck, you may end up wanting to spend a little more of the afternoon here. We'd recommend coming on a clear day as close to open (11AM) as you can to secure optimal seating like one of the many shipping containers that's been transformed into a warm seating nook.
The Lunchbox: A charming Airstream turned food trailer that serves up Mexican favorites and cold bevies. This silver sanctuary is parked on the snow at mid-mountain. Take the Gondola up to mid-station and the airstream will be waiting for you just outside McCoy Station, near the base of Chair 3. The Lunchbox makes a midday pick-me-up quick and easy. Come ready to soak up some vitamin D and unbuckle your boots for a minute. A few crowd favorites: Chicken flautas and beef street tacos. If you can't decide, make your own combo plate and grab one of each!
McCoy Marketplace: You can find this mid-mountain market half-way up the Panorama Gondola and accessible from a handful of surrounding chairlifts. McCoy Marketplace is a great option for customizable meals. From a self-serve baked potato bar with all the fixings to a fully loaded carving station including tri-tip, rotisserie chicken and slew of southern side dishes - this is by far the best bang for your buck and a one-stop-shop to feed the whole family. For the family meal option, grab a full chicken and two sides, more than enough to satiate everyone.
No matter where you decide to grab a bite, Mammoth’s on-hill dining has you covered. From breakfast to après, there’s always a spot to recharge and enjoy the mountain vibes before getting back out there.
Pro Tip: Flash your Ikon Pass and receive up to 15% off food and non-alcoholic beverages at most locations on the hill.
