Take an aerial ride up Mammoth Mountain on the Panorama Gondola to explore all the fun at 11,053 ft. At the top, snap a selfie at the summit sign, enjoy lunch with panoramic views at the Eleven53 Café, and discover the history and wonder of the Sierra at the interpretive center.

Each Scenic Gondola ticket provides unlimited access for the day of purchase. Up to two kids (ages 12 and under) ride free with each paying adult. Free tickets for kids are available at any ticket window.

Eleven53 Interpretive Center & Café

Featuring exhibits for all ages, a knowledgeable docent, café and panoramic views of the Sierra and beyond. This is the central hub of the Explore Mammoth experience. Enjoy free access with your Scenic Gondola Ride ticket.

Exhibits change periodically. Topics may include volcanic history, geology and geography, weather patterns, cultural heritage, and natural history.

Enjoy lunch with a view at Eleven53 Café. Offering house-made sandwiches, soup, chili, and snacks.

Summit Sign

Once you get to the top, step outside for a short walk to Mammoth Mountain's famous totem sign. Take a selfie and enjoy the beautiful views of the Minarets and beyond.

On-Mountain Hiking Trails

Ride Up & Hike Down

Make it a one-way trip and head back down on foot for a rewarding hike. There are several scenic hiking trails on Mammoth Mountain. Get your free hiking guide at the Adventure Center before you board the Panorama Gondola. Dogs on a leash are welcome during the summer season only, after the conclusion of skiing & riding.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Load the Panorama Gondola in the building across from the Main Lodge west entrance. Check Lift & Trail Status beforehand to make sure there aren't any weather holds on the gondola.

Gondola operations are subject to change or close without notice and access is not guaranteed to ticket holders.


When is the last gondola ride of the day?

The Scenic Gondola takes about 7 minutes from the base area to the top of the Mountain. Walk-up ticket sales end 30 minutes prior to closing.

KIDS RIDE FREE

Up to two kids (ages 12 and under) ride free with each paying adult. Free tickets can be obtained at any ticket window. Seniors over 80 ride free as well. All riders must be present when picking up tickets.

Can I bring my dog on the gondola?

Well behaved dogs on leashes are welcome to board the Panorama Gondola during the summer months only.

Is the gondola open year round?

The Scenic Gondola is open year-round, weather permitting with the exception of the following maintenance dates:

  • September 16, 2024 – November 14, 2024
