Big Mountain Team
Mammoth Big Mountain team offers programs for skiers 10 years and older. We have a wide variety of programs to suite a wide variety of levels. Whether you’re looking to learn the basics or become a big mountain freeride competitor, Mammoth Big Mountain team will provide you with what you need to reach your goals.
Producing top athletes is important, but developing good people with people-skills is equally important to us. Education, courage, discipline, accountability, integrity and teamwork are all blended into the team experience. Success on and off the hill is measured by achievements, not just results.

Coaching
Our coaching staff is certified through IFSA. They have the knowledge and experience to help any young skier set and reach their goals. The coaches ask our athletes to work hard towards their goals but there is always time for fun. We want our athletes to enjoy what they are doing. We strive to develop a lifelong passion for skiing and the mountains.
Big Mountain u15/u19 team
Ages 12–18
This program is designed for aspiring freeride competitors to participate in Junior freeride events while honing their skills all over the mountain. They will practice varying freeride techniques and train competitively through the competition season. The U15 and U19 athletes will focus on 2* sanctioned IFSA junior freeride events through the Tahoe Junior Freeride Series.
Ability
Skiers must be able to ski comfortably on the entire mountain in varied conditions and be comfortable skiing in the beginner and intermediate unbound terrain parks. Athletes who do not meet the skills assessment requirements may be placed in another program on a case by case basis to help them continue developing their skills.
Schedule
Big Mountain U15/U19 Team athletes will begin training in November. They will train on snow Wed, Thurs and Fri afternoons, all day Sat/Sun and select holidays until the end of April on Mammoth Mountain. Evening trampoline and gym schedules will be announced when the program starts. Conditioning schedules will be communicated when on snow training finishes at Mammoth.

Elite Team
All ages (SKILL-BASED ENTRY)
Big Mountain Elite Team is by invitation only. This program is designed for serious Freeride competitors to travel with a focus on 3* IfSA Junior events. Team members will train extensively on the snow along with video review, trampoline training, physical training, yoga and mental training as part of their training routine. They will work to refine their freeride techniques and competition strategies. The team will travel together as a group to all of the chosen events through the competition season.
SELECTION FOR ELITE TEAM
Selections for this group will be at the discretion of the head coach and program and will be based on ability, attitude, commitment and motivation towards competition and training.
Schedule
The Elite Team begins training in November (conditions permitting). Trampoline and gym schedules will be announced when the program starts. Conditioning schedules will be communicated when on-snow training finishes on Mammoth Mountain. Elite Team athletes will have access to the Mammoth High Performance Camp and will train alongside the best in the world. Summer training trips to Mt. Hood, Saas Fee, New Zealand or other destinations will be a part of their summer schedule (additional costs apply). Big Mountain u12 Team
10–11 Year Old Athletes
This program is designed to introduce young freeriders to competition and the sport of freeride skiing. Athletes will be taught the techniques of line selection along with proper freeride techniques and competitive training. U12 athletes will compete in 1-3 sanctioned IFSA junior freeride events through the Tahoe junior freeride series.
Ability
Skiers must be able to ski comfortably on the entire mountain in varied conditions and be comfortable skiing in the beginner unbound terrain parks. Athletes who do not meet the skills assessment requirements may be placed in another program on a case by case basis to help them continue developing their skills.
