Altitude Awareness

Mammoth’s elevation ranges from 7,953 feet in town to 11,053 feet at the summit, which means thinner air and stronger UV exposure. Staying hydrated is key—drink plenty of water before and during your trip to help prevent altitude sickness. Take it slow, especially if you’re not used to high elevations, and always wear sunscreen and lip balm with SPF to protect your skin from intense UV rays. If you feel dizzy, nauseous, or overly fatigued, take a break and head to a lower elevation if needed to stay safe and comfortable.

Trail Maps

Plan your route with ease using the Mammoth App, where you can track your progress and access our interactive trail map. Prefer the classic version? Pick up a printed map at any ticket counter.

Getting Around Town

After arriving in Mammoth, leave your car parked and take advantage of the free Eastern Sierra Transit Authority (ESTA) buses, which connect the town and all mountain lodges. Free and paid parking options are available, with parking shuttles running at Main Lodge. Lots typically open at 6:00 AM.

At Mammoth, fun rules the mountain—but so does looking out for each other. To keep everyone safe while carving through powder or cruising down groomers, we've got a simple set of guidelines from the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) called 'Your Responsibility Code'. It’s all about staying in control, staying aware, and giving everyone their best day out here.
